Fruit Recall Over Listeria: Trader Joes, Costco, Sam’s Club and Other Stores Included!

fruit recall over listeria

Uh-oh!  Check your fridge.  There is a pretty HUGE recall out today that includes Peaches, Plums, Nectarines, Pluots and various baked goods containing these fruits so at big retailers like Trader Joes, Costco, Sam’s Club and more!

You can read the full news story here or just go straight to the list of effected items here.   I had a clam shell of the Plums in our fridge – fortunately only 1 was gone (I ate it) and they container had been shoved to the back of the shelf so the kiddos didn’t get into them.

From what I am reading, they don’t know for sure where all of the product has been sold so if I were you I would just throw it all out whether you see it on the list or not.

Listeria is no joke – here is what I found on WebMD

Listeriosis affects mainly pregnant women, newborns, the elderly, and adults with impaired immune systems.  The symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, and sometimes nausea or diarrhea. If infection spreads to the nervous system, symptoms such as headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, or convulsions can occur. But infected pregnant women may experience only a mild, flu-like illness.
